One of my favorite subcompact is gonna get a line extension, it is a 2014 Honda Urban SUV Concept. The Honda Fit (in some markets well known as the Jazz) is the car with the best use of space (at least until the next generation of Nissan Note is not on sale), and when at the same time and add energy efficient motors, rich interior, high resale value and Honda’s renowned quality, it becomes clear why this little guy is so popular among customers.
However, the Japanese automaker says that it has lost many customers who do not like the hatchback style and is ready to expand the line and the sedan and a small crossover. While the next-generation Fit / Jazz debut the following year, the small crossover audience will have to wait another year. At this year’s Detroit Auto Show, Honda presented the audience Urban SUV concept, which tells us that the new crossover could look. Urban targeting vehicles such as the Nissan Juke, Kia Soul, Ford EcoSport, the Opel Mokka and future Volkswagen Taigun as major competitors in the Honda line will be located below the CR-V in size and price.
Judging from the design of 2014 Honda Urban SUV concept, its the main rival could still be the Juke, as the only two cars in the group with sports and aggressive design. It is expected that many lines from the concept found on the production model, but it is unlikely to sport a roof could be the choice. The front of 2014 Honda Urban SUV provides a recognizable Honda design that we’ve seen on a model Accord in the USA, a similar design can be expected in other models of the company. Modeled on the hatchback, and crossover will feature highly used space, which will be one of the biggest cars in its class. Japanese giant has not released images of the interior details of the bill, but if the rest of Honda’s line indicator shows what to expect, the audience will not be disappointed. The details are still not at the expense of the engine and is expected to offer the same as in the Fit. It means that European customers can choose between two petrol engines (1.3L with 98 hp and the 1.5L with 117 hp), while the more powerful of the two engines will be in the offer only in North America, is not excluded mightiest of supply of diesel.
The 2014 Honda Urban SUV power will be transferred to the front wheels, or optional 4×4, through choice of manual or automatic transmissions. If Honda manages to combine all those features that graced Fit / Jazz in a larger package, there is no reason to doubt the success of this crossover. The good thing in all this is that Honda’s concepts are mostly small change compared to production models, and we can already anticipate what kind of product we expect.
